Recently, we learned from relevant channels that Jaguar will not launch any new cars before 2025. Additionally, Jaguar will be built as an all-electric brand with an eye on competing with premium brands like Aston Martin or Bentley. It is reported that Jaguar's new future lineup will only include one crossover, which will replace the I-Pace.
Jaguar Land Rover CEO Thierry Bollore talked about plans to enter the high-end market in early 2021. "We will completely reposition the Jaguar brand," he said at the time.
It is reported that Jaguar will invest 2.5 billion pounds to develop the Jaguar brand’s unique electric vehicle platform. The new model will look significantly different from the current design language. Jaguar is so committed to the plan that it's canceling vehicles already in development. For example, the new XJ that was exposed before is believed to be very close to release.
In addition, Jaguar has written off about $1.4 billion of its investment in the MLA platform because the technology is too old to meet the car brand's emissions targets. Because of this, the J-Pace project was also terminated.
